The last COD game that I enjoyed and played 1000h was COD2. I even played some tournaments and 5on5 CTF in clanbase for a long time. It had no artillery and no fucking rockets. Comp mod had 1 sniper and 1 shotgun per team and 1 nade for everyone.

After Call of Duty: World at War, we set out 3 goals for our next PC title:
* 1] PC gets every single game feature that the consoles get, but in a way that makes sense for PC. * 2] PC gets even more features – the ones that PC gamers want like dedicated servers and more customization. * 3] Keep it fun. Protect the integrity of the title through design and post-launch support.
Keep that in mind as you read through the decisions outlined below in our FAQ.
Call of Duty: Black Ops PC Multiplayer FAQ
Full feature support: Confirmed Ranked Servers: earn XP and currency. Wager Servers: gamble your currency. Customizable Unranked Servers. Combat Training against practice dummies. Theater. Create-a-Class "2.0." Contracts. Emblem editor. Everything the consoles get. Implemented in a way that makes sense for PC (*cough* no lobbies *cough*).
PC Features: Confirmed Dedicated Servers. New Server Browser. Dev console. /record. Customizable game modes, perks, killstreaks, classes, and higher player counts on unranked servers. Map rotation. RCon. Kick & Ban. MOTD. In-game custom Server Banners. And more.
Mod Tools: Confirmed We will release mod tools sometime post-launch. We need to finish the game first. Then we will make sure any urgent issues are handled. Then we will begin work on tools. The extent of the mod tools package will not be known until this time.
Global Persistent Stats, Profiles: Confirmed Your profile data is stored on servers for you and is accessible from anywhere on the internet. Stats, XP, COD Points, configs, etc.
Steam Exclusive: Confirmed Millions of Call of Duty fans are already on Steam. Their Friends are on Steam. Steam will provide the ease of auto-updating instead of manual patching. Auto-updating will also help keep the community playing together on the latest version. The Steam cloud will make your profile and configs available to you on any computer.
VAC: Confirmed We are serious about protecting the integrity of this game from hackers and cheaters who would otherwise ruin the fun for the honest players. Used in conjunction with our own anti-exploit measures, Theater reviews, trusted servers, and supplemented by server admins with kick and ban powers we believe that Valve Anti-Cheat will be an effective solution for Call of Duty: Black Ops PC. We are committed to working closely and diligently with Valve to deal with new threats as they appear.
No “Public Server Files”: Confirmed Many of these game features are predicated on having a trusted host or server. Otherwise these features would be wide-open to easy exploits and rampant cheating. Also, anti-cheat solutions can be significantly more effective on games that rely on trusted servers. We chose against “public server files” in favor of providing full feature support and protecting the integrity of this title. This doesn't mean you won't have customization or admin capabilities with your servers - because you will. This simply means we've partnered with an exclusive server provider.
GameServers.com Exclusive: Confirmed We have partnered with GameServers.com as the exclusive provider of dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Every dedicated server for this title will be running on top quality hardware and infrastructure with excellent bandwidth. There will be a ton of official servers at launch for everyone to play on for free. If you want to run your own server you will be able to rent one at a great price (which will never go higher than $0.99/slot). They are actively adding new server locations and staffing up to meet global demand. If you don’t see your location you can suggest it here: http://www.gameservers.com/blackops/
Max Players: Not Confirmed We have not yet finalized the maximum number of players in ranked or unranked servers. More playtesting is required to determine how high these numbers can go. This happens as late as possible in the project otherwise the game is likely to change in ways that could invalidate the results.
Minimum System Requirements: Not Confirmed The game is still in development, and the PC team is hard at work making further optimizations. We will announce the min specs in the near future.
-----
Hopefully that answers the majority of the outstanding questions not answered from our MP Reveal coverage. There are still some questions we do not have answers for at this time, so as always, we appreciate your patience. We will have all questions answered before November 9th.
Regards, -JD, PC Dev, & the PC Team

Btw,after watching my friend playing MOH, i must say that is better than COD,the terrain is graphicaly better than in any game... Battlefield Vietnam? I cant join BBC2 for 2 weeks I need a new game before BRINK...other options?

Well what did you expect, the last 3 (at least)CoD games were like that, BF isn't that different either.
This is MW2 without all the bs (i hope).
Any way despite this shit and the fact that you cant change the language (gives me a chance to improve my Russian), i still went out and bought it. I know, i know, I'm such lemming.
Will post more once i try it out.

As promised, here is a small overview by me.
Firstly the Lag/Stutter that i reffered to in the last post, is not a problem for me anymore. There was a small patch that helped and some tweaks took care of the rest. And there is another patch incoming, some time this week. So i think this issue is resolved.
Hit detection works, no complaints from me.
The graphics are ok, i play on medium no AA (i will try to max it out once the bigger patch is out). Some people say that MW2 looked better, but to me they look the same. This game just seems to have less bloom, which is good.
You can change FOV in the options (or the console).
In the preview videos the guns sounded pretty crap, but you dont notice this in game. The footsteps though are really quiet, so you have to pay attention.
Of course there are dedicated servers here. The lowest pings for me (~55ms in the server browser) are on servers in Netherlands. The ping usually increase by 20 in game, but its still not a problem. You rarely see anyone with a very low ping, so its an even playing field. The only problem is that, on ranked servers you cant switch teams. Oh and there are very few FFA servers, i like FFA.
Now the gameplay. The biggest difference is the player count, all gametypes (except Wager) are 18 player (you hear that Fight, real war ). It might seem like a lot, since the maps arent that much bigger than in MW2. But it actually works out pretty well. Sure sometimes people will spawn right behind you, just as start to reload, but it really makes life hard for the campers.
The maps are great IMO, almost always multilevel with lots of routes, campers have little chance. I havent seen a single map that i didnt like yet (i mean in TDM, S&D might not be that great on every map).
Guns are well balanced, again no complaints. The snipers might be a bit difficult, but frankly i dont care much about that. There are tubes but very few people use them. Knifing still seems too easy, but at least it works.
There is no One Man Army, Commando, Danger close (at least to my knowledge) or Stopping power. Scavanger will not replenish your explosives and there are no death streaks.
The UI has also improved. When you get an XP award, the text will not block your view and the sound effects are much shorter too. And there is no more music when the round starts to end. There is ambient music though, but that is not annoying, infact it really adds to the atmosphere.
The killstreaks dont count torwards other killstreaks and they dont seem overpowered (yet). Since its very hard not to die in 18 player games, you wont get them too easily either. New Chopper Gunner is awsum BTW.
Theater mode is a nice , but somewhat limited. And currently it only records wager matches automatically. This might be a bug or a feature, u might have to turn on record manually for other game types. Or maybe im just too stupid to operate it correctly.
I would say that this game delivered what was expected of it. A CoD game without any of the MW2 bs.
I was gonna talk about the Wager matches in detail too, but i dont feel like typing anymore. So i will just upload a video of me playing one, tommorow.

Well some people still have lag, just not me.
You cant switch sides on ranked servers, so playing in the same team with your friends is complicated.
Other than that its just another CoD game, except without all the annoying shit. So if you like CoD style gameplay then, there really is nothing wrong with it.
Here is a clip of me playing Gun Game. Length 4:47, size 138MB.
